Are Your Dancing at Work??

This VIDEO has gone viral so you may have already seen it. If so, I hope you’ll take another look.

Most folks are looking at the grace and joy on the patient’s face. Of course, I was moved by that AND I was watching the OR staff during the video as well. Take another look at it and pay closer attention to the OR team.

Talk about being satisfied & energized! WOW!

I’ll bet this team did their best during this surgery. I’ll bet they felt connected and important. Don’t you think that their day went differently as a result of the dance? I sure hope so! (continued below…)

Are you worried about how you and your team can stay satisfied & energized with so much change around? I’m here to help. Here’s what one recent client had to say about our work together and the difference it made.

Vicki Hess presented a half day workshop on employee engagement for our annual Alabama Organization of Nurse Executives (AlaONE) Leadership Conference. Everything about her presentation was phenomenal and upbeat! The attendees were very, very satisfied (as evidenced by their informal comments and formal evaluations). Vicki conducted conference calls with members of our board of directors so that she would fully understand the specific concerns of Alabama nursing leaders.

Her presentation reflected this thoughtful customization…Everyone benefited in some way from her workshop…She is also sending out follow up emails to keep the ideas front and center. Our attendees received solid take away tools to implement right away. We highly recommend Vicki Hess for any meeting or conference you are planning.

Back to our video…
I’m sure someone was worried about the surgery time being delayed for the extra 6 minutes or the noise from the music or other process related issues. Did it really matter in the end? If serving the patient is the highest goal of this organization (and I’m sure it is), maybe everyone should be offered the option of dancing prior to their surgery (and I’m not kidding).

What are you doing in your role to dance your way through the challenges (POWs) and create more graceful moments (WOWs)? Deb seemed to shift her POWs to WOWs before a double mastectomy…how will you find the joy in you job (Professional Paradise) today?
